Just got my khuks:D

I have one question, so far.

Where is the sweet spot on the M43? If the position of the khuk at impact is when the handle is parallel with the ground then the sweet spot is on the tip of the M43 (bottom of picture).
I would have just gone out and tried it to see what feels comfrotable, but I'm laid up with a bad cold :barf: and didn't feel like I should be playing with knives :( .

The Sweet Spot will not be at the tip of the khuk. looking at the fron portion of the blade the sweet spot should be about center of the widest part of that blade.

I have found the sweet spot by holding the center of the handle between two fingers, lifting the blade above a piece of wood and dropping the blade and see where the blade hit and does not pull either way out of my fingers. If you hit too far toward the point the handle will try to pull out of you two finger grasp to move downward. Too far the other way and it will try to move up into your palm. I don't know whether this makes any sense to you but it works for me.:) :)

Sean:

You'll be able to pinpoint it exactly if you hone with a ceramic rod. A burr will raise on the softer areas of the blade before the hardened area responds. Its not a thing that needs to be marked though, because like Pappy said, the hardened area will be right where it is supposed to be for a comfortable and productive hit.
