Looking for some input.
Where is the best place (or perhaps - the correct place) to post an offer to buy a particular model CRK?
Don't want to ruffle any feathers by posting something in the wrong place.
I know there are generic threads offering to trade or buy a knife. We have a thread to sell CRKs, but not one to post a specific Chris Reeve (only) knife that you are looking for.
There is even a thread for birthdays that you wish you could find a CRK to match.
I am probably blind, or dumb as a stump, and will be totally embarrassed when some kind soul takes me to task by eloquently illuminating my stupidity.
But, enquiring minds want to know...
 
What about the Exchange? Click "Exchange" up in the menu bar at the top of the page, then scroll down to last section and open the "Want to buy: Knives" section. Making a posting there is what many folks in your situation do.
 
You may do so in a sigline as well.
Other alternatives may include the FB Chris Reeve BST page.
Not sure where many of the rare CRK are coming from as I typically don't buy them.
 
I was just wondering if it would be appropriate to start a thread here in the manufacturer's forum for Chris Reeve knives that everyone could post (and even keep updated) what specific CR knife that they were trying to locate and/or buy.
Would that be a prohibited thread?
 
What are you looking for? I'm getting rid of a few. You can PM me if you'd prefer.

The CRK exchange forum is for sales only. The WTB knives portion of the exchange is the proper place. It would be nice if you could post in the CRK exchange, for that is where the CRK action is, but rules are rules

In theory, that would be nice. I would think that it would eventually get cluttered and annoying to sift through WTB's looking for items for sale and vice versa. It'd also be a pain if/when thread titles had only the model information and not if it was for sale or they are looking to buy.

There was a thread in Tech Support not too long ago requesting for a Buck WTB. In my opinion, CRK or Busse have a better shot at getting one because of the amount of traffic that their sales forums receive.

I may not have thought the adding WTB to the CRK sales forum completely through. I was just looking at it from that is where CRK people go, but I agree it would probably get annoying. A WTB CRK just below the CRK sales might work or I will just deal with the hand I am given and use and look at the general WTB knives forum.
 
The existing WTB section of the exchange is the correct and ONLY place to list something you want (other than making it a part of your sig line). It works ... but only if people who have something they might sell actually look at that forum! Personally, I look at it every time I visit BF, as I almost always prefer a direct, person-to-person sale over having to list a knife I want to sell.

I am looking specifically for anything that you would have in your pocket right now. 😁 Lol!
And also I am looking for anything that Lone_Wolfe has on that over burdened table of hers. 😇

My son-in-law and my daughter are just absolutely nutzo's when it comes to dogs. They have 5! He graduates in May "magma-cum laude" with his under-grad degree in Toxicology. Starts his doctorate program in pharmacy this fall. I am proud of them and want to get them a knife. But not just any knife...

I am looking for a Sebenza (large or small) that has the "dog paw" prints etched onto the presentations side. It can be silver on silver, or gold anodized model. In a lefty model that would just be a bonus! They are exclusive to Plaza Cutlery in S California. Just hoping that one would turn up on the secondary market.

Nice! I will take the big one for him and the little one for my daughter! Thank you very much! 😇 Lol

They have 2 Yorkies, a chihuahua that weighs about 2 pounds, a rescue dog, and a dog that looks like the one on the old Victrola's.

I would think that a sub- thread made up of WTB offers only (not mixed in the same thread as offers to sell) could be justified for any brand that can justify an Exchange thread that caters to that brand only. Certainly would liven up things a bit. And I am sure drive more traffic to BF (not that it needs anymore traffic if it is going to overload things and take down the servers :rolleyes:) and I also think that posting a WTB in a forum like that should require a paid membership just like an offer to sell. Just my opinion... Seems logical.

My table is pretty sturdy, it's having no trouble holding 105 knives and 3 kitties. :p :p :p

The 100 in the pic, one at work, 3 in another state, and one here but not in the pic = 105. And the cats...... well........... they own the joint! :D :D :D
