Where on here should I ask about the pricing on a knife I own?

I might as well throw out what knife it is. I have a blue Osbourne 940 from October of 2000. It's the knife of the month style knife. It's in Good condition, but not mint. It has been pocketed once, but not used to cut. I am trying to get a box from Benchmade, but I don't have a box for it now.

Thank you for the help, let me know if this is asked in the wrong spot.

When pricing a knife I have, I usually look to eBay (search finished auctions) or what the knife originally cost minus some percentage (minus 25% is what I usually figure or minus 50% MSRP).

Also, a google search can turn up people who sold them and you can sometimes see what the knife sold for and, more importantly, what it did not sell for.

The knife of the month blue Osbourne 940 from October of 2000 has some additional interest in it, so there may be increased value.

You may get some help in Bernard Levine's sub forum. It would help if you posted a close up picture. Also, do an advanced search on ebay on completed items to gauge what the going price is for that item.

Just checked, but not knowing your exact model or quality, there is one with 2 bids 4 days left at $100.00, and another one in mint condition that has a Buy it Now for 349, or best offer. Follow those 2 and I think you will get a close percieved value. Hope that helps.

Here's where you can get a new blue 940 in D2 steel and comes with free tactical pen for $199.95. The MSRP is $300 -but never pay retail.

Benchmade must have sold a gazillion 940s in many configurations over the past decade...so a 2000 DOB probably doesn't make it any more valuable. You may be able to sell it on eBay for anywhere from $100-150 depending if there is a bidding war.

It isn't DOB (date of birth), its a KOM (knife of the month) knife.

I'd have to see pictures, but a used KOTM.... $100- $125. maybe a little more if you can find someone who collects that particular model and does not have it yet.

It never really made it as a collectors item. I wouldn't say it's appreciated at all. Probably near what you payed new.
