Where should I go to or send my knives to be sharpened?

Hi, I have been into knives for about a year and am in to the higher end production stuff like emerson, zt, bm etc. And all I use to sharpen my knives for now is a sharp maker, but there is always a knife that I just cant get sharp. Most recently it is my newly acquired zt 0551 and While I can get it paper slicing sharp and can use it in my edc there is always room for improvement. I would like to find a local place I could get this sharpened in the ontario gta but the only place I have found so far either said they don't do folders or are arrogant snobs who think any knife that isn't hand forged is crap. If anyone knows a good person that I can send it to or meet up with who can get me a mirror polish hair whittling edge and a strop for not too much money that would be great. Preferably someone in Canada. Eventually I will invest in a wicked edge or something, but it is not feasible at the moment.

I just bookmarked Richard's site and will be sending him my knives when I dull them (which should be soon). The rates seem reasonable. I have a disorder (if you watch my knife videos you will notice shaking), and was looking myself for a pro. Good thread.

Thanks for all the responses. Richard is a great guy and I would send him my stuff but he is in the US and I prefer to keep my sharpening in Canada. I talked to him on the phone however and he is going to get me in touch with someone he recommends who resides in Canada that can sharpen my knives for me :) and Martin, I would but I don't have the time or funds to learn how to properly free hand or get a better system like a wicked edge.

Yep. Richard J is the one. Full disclosure...I have not done so myself. However folks on this forum are PICKY PICKY PICKY to the point of OBSESSION and they all love Richard J's work.

I too will vouch for richard's skills. I've only examined one knife he sharpened, but it was one of the keenest, cleanest and most crisp edges I've ever seen

Be very wary of the "professional knife sharpener" without a known reputation. This could be anything from a real hack, to a well intentioned amaturish type that get's 'er done well enough to suit those with some cheap, dull, kitchen knives.

Richard J is the real deal...with a lot of people here who will vouch for him. The obsessive knife nuts on this forum, with whom I feel brotherhood, do not hesitate to send very expensive knives to him for sharpening.

If I want a knife sharpened it goes to Richard. I have one of his knives and it's the sharpest knife I have ever owned. I have watched him sharpen knives of all kinds when I visited him and he knows his stuff.
