Whatchu doin this weekend everybody? I'm working OT Saturday, taking care of my uncles dogs while hes on vacation, going to the Upper Marlboro MD gun show to meet some of the bastids out there, and taking my dog into town to meet wimmins :D !

The Master was pondering as to what He would be doing this w/e :)

Crappy weather is hindering my desire to get out and do some work. The humidity around here is like soup.

Thought about going camping. Cheaper just to sit home a sweat.

Hmm... Maybe put an A.C. unit in the shop ?

Have a good w/e evrybody.

Going to forge some more Heavy Hetal Butterflies....
Got to straiten up the shop......Cannot Find Anything!

Might buy a metal cutting band saw?
Need more room.

Larry

I'll be finishing up 2 sheaths and starting other stuff ;) My wifes birthday is this weekend so I dont see getting toom uch done :p :D

I'd be working on the lock-up on a folder if I had gotten the right chucking reamer. :grumpy: Oh well, I've got a heckuva lot of other stuff to do. Lots of grinding and I gotta make a 1-inch piece of W-2 into a 3/16th-inch tanto-like object. My little girly arms makes me a slow forger. :D

Oh and I gotta tile the bathroom :(

I feel for you Michael,

I have a 16" x 2" bladed 22" OAL piece of W-2 integral Ameri-tanto that used to be 1 1/8 round bar, that I'm piddlin with myself.

That was mouth-full :)

Dont quite know what to call it.

Hmmm...

"Ameritantegral" ?

I am worried about the results of the "first-ever" stress test I did yesterday at the Heart Doctor's office.

I would not usually be worried by tests, but I really didn't know how to study for this one.

I turned 58 on Tuesday, and felt 108. (By the way, not one of you Bastids wished me a happy birthday..........) That's OK though, I have a memory like a steel trap. (Well, sorta like a "rusty-steel-trap)

Anyway, I guess I will sit around and worry about the test results............ Sounds fun, Huh ?

Your "Old-er-n-dirt" friend.............Robert

Today sucked the big one. Yesterday sucked it even more, and I have a feeling tomorrow isn't going to be any better. Betcha sunday will suck too :grumpy:  :grumpy: .
All I have planned is work. I work maintenance at the county fairgrounds and the fair starts tomorrow.....
Everytime I turn around, somebody wants something, and something is broken. Between the fairgrounds, and straw baling I've clocked up 120 hours of work in the last 2 weeks...haven't touched the grinder in about 4 days and I'm having withdrawals :grumpy:
As if the normal BS of everybody trying to set their stuff up and wanting you to do something for them right away wasn't enough we keep having stuff fly to peices. Dug up and fixed the 3rd broken water line this week, and let the guy with the backhoe leave. A half hour later, someone tied a horse to the hydrant in the wash rack and it broke it off at the ground!
I wasn't really anticipating crawling under a full size fan with a 20 ton jack and a chainsaw when I woke up today....but some woman tried to drive over a stack of pallets, got high centered, and there I was trying to get her out
I don't even want to think about whats in store for tomorrow

I see a batch of 25 neck knives swirlin around in my mind. Hmmm, sure am glad I loaded up on s30v way back when. Now all I gotta do is get a new fan and start grindin! I love those little Cajuns. Just the right length and curve to slash some ugly *(&^(*^%(*&^(*er's throat if they're messin with ya, muhahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa! :D

Robert my friend, you're not old just seasoned. You know when you were 4 you were twice my age. Now look at us we're almost the same age! You see all them younger dudes are catching up at an alarming rate (for them).
DOn't worry about the stress test....if it was bad they wouldn't have let you go home!
They'll just give you a bunch of static about your eating habits and exercising more. Just remember, at Trackrock the BBQ doesn't count.

Happy birthday Robert!
I am planning on cutting the grass tomorrow as we have some folks coming over for a BBQ. I hope to con some of them into helping me stand my press back on its legs after some yahoo neandrethal in a pump truck knocked it over yesterday (see the AAAAARRRRGGGG!!! post if you're curious or have a sniper rifle for loan...)

Things never work out as planned.

I took today off from the day job as the tiny company I work for is in the beginning stages of an aggressive merger with a much larger competitor nad as a result, for the second year in a row, I will forfeit my second week of vacation this year. In the end it should be good as I'm set up to make a bunch more money with teh new copmany, but losing vacation always sucks. So my boss agreed that an extra day off here and there would be ok.

My original plan was to spend the day painting my exploded new KMG, then reassembling it and wiring it up so I could spend Saturday grinding on it, but I got an interesting eamil from a buddy this AM. He pointed out a listing on www.craigslist.com about a machinery rebuilding business that was closing it's doors and had a bunch of junk that needed to be hauled off for free, or nearly so on some items. That caused a 3 hour diversion which seems like time well spent considering what I got out of the deal. I scored a 12"x18" precision ground machinist's square in a fitted wooden case from Shefield England and a LNIB 48" US made precision straight edge, the kind used in machinery repfurbing, not a ruler for $40.00 for the pair. I expect to get a couple hundred for the straight edge alone as I'll likely never get into scraping ways on precision machinery so there's no need keeping it. Besides that. I scored a cherry pair of Browne & Sharp 6" swiss made dial calipers that do seem nicer than my existing Starretts and a 12" chinese digital set tha twill go to some young makers I know. I also got a bunch of precision shim stock in .002, .006 and .010 thickness and a lifetime supply of Locktite 242 thread locker (like three dozen 50ml bottles NIB) all for free. Then there was the 50 feet of air hose, 12"x60"x.375" felt (great for way wipers and oil wicks) and the fire safe oily rag container that I've been wanting for the shop, all free.

I did get the KMG painted, but now have to reassemble it tonight and hopefully get it wired tomorrow so I can do some grinding on my new rig this weekend.

Not like I planned, but all in all, a great day and should be a great weekend.
