Where to buy 12x2x3/16" D2 steel blanks

So either my search-fu on this site sucks, or the information is hidden real good... where can I buy 12x2x3/16" D2 steel blanks? Slightly larger is good as well.

I heard a couple people mention TexasKnife.com (and they also mention them for a good place to have them heat treated once the knife is cut out as well), but they only come in 1.5" widths.

Any help would be appreciated. Trying to finish my Christmas shopping this weekend. Thanks.
 
Try Alpha Knife Supply. If they don't have it, Check your yellow pages. D2
is a very popular tool steel....not just among knife makers. Most tool steel
distributors will carry it in precision ground flat stock, in 18" or 36" lengths,
Some may have a minimum order though.

Your profile doesn't list what city, state, or country you are located in, but this may help you.

The standard lengths for toolsteel flatstock will be 18 or 36 inches, unless someone is cutting it off a bar for you.

It seems the criteria for my brothers present has changed ever so slightly (sorry)

Looking for 3/16 x 2 x 18" (instead of 12") in Crucible steel brand only. Anybody have any links? The above don't carry it in this longer size (or if they do it's $70+, where I've been told it shouldn't be more than $20ish for this; or they don't list it as Crucible). Thanks again.
 
I contacted Crucible directly, and they don't sell to the public. The company they suggested wanted $120 + shipping for a single piece of 3/16" D2.

I finally went with NJ Steel Baron. $59 shipped for one piece...still has to be something I'm missing if it's really that pricey.

What grade was it? If it's a CPM-type steel that's not too far off the mark, depending on size and shipping method of course. EDIT: I just browsed thru Aldo's site and his prices look pretty dang good to me.
 
CPM D2 really is that expensive,If you can find it for 20 bucks let us all know and there will be a run on the place.

Flatground.com Should have any size D2 you need.
 
Maybe Jantz supply? I have the catalog, but its in my work truck(lunchtime browsing) They do have a website, and i think D2, but unsure of the measurements they carry.
