Can someone tell me who sells Beckers in a retail location in the Denver area? I contacted their customer service and they couldn't tell me who sells them near me(How they cannot know blows my mind). I really want to see how they feel in my hand before purchase.

If there's a Cabellas in your area try them. The one here has a couple Beckers. I will say though that the Becker handles are the most comfortable I have felt, and many people agree. It seems the be a minority that does not like the way they feel. If you purchase offline and end up not liking the ergos you won't have any problem selling it on here. Beckers have a loyal following. Good luck in your search and welcome to the forum.

Dick's Sporting Good's also carries some of the Beckers. According to their websites, Cabella's only carries the 11 and the 16, while Dick's carries the 16 and the 7. From a handle point of view, that covers one of the small, neck knife handles, the "short" versions and the "full-size" versions. I have never held one of the shorties (15,16,17), so I don't know if the handle is any different between them and the 5/7/9/10, but I believe they are pretty much the same. The 11 handle is different from the 13/14/24.

Completely different handles on the tweeners. I have medium sized hands and think the tweeners have the most comfortable handles in the business for a knife that size. Now of course with a larger knife you want something that fills your hand more and gives you something to hold on to when chopping. The full size Beckers fill the hand more

I checked Dick's, they do not have any and the guy at the counter had no idea what a Becker was, lol. I will have to check out Cabela's.

From my experience, the vast majority of the people in the knife industry are good folks. They understand that its a relatively small community of people who are really into knives and that word about their customer service gets around quickly so they usually take good care of us. The dealers that support this site are all good people and I'm sure they would be more than happy to allow you to return the knife if you don't like the way it feels. I have returned a knife from a different manufacturer for that very reason; yeah you'll lose $5 on return shipping but big deal, thats less than you will spend in gas driving to several stores to see if they have them in stock.

My same experience. The guy at Dick's said, "um.....does Kershaw make the Beckerknife?" I just walked away, LOL. Cabelas has many of the models on their website however, only 2 or 3 models in the store. Last time I was there they had the 16 and 13. Everything else was web.

The handles on the tweeners are like weilding excalibur......it was handed down by the gods, just for you, and only you.

If there is a Sportsman Warehouse in your area, they may have a few Kabar Beckers on the shelf. The one near me has a couple. But I have never seen the full line or even most of the line at a regular non-knife store.

But I agree about handling a knife before you buy it. I just feel you should reward the store that carries the stock and most don't when you find one you like versus looking at it in a store (usually at a higher price) and then ordering online.

I ask at a cabelas last week if they had them (here in WA) and he had no idea what they were either. He really didn't know much about knives at all but I guess that's retail for you. :D

Good luck --- I hope your cabelas has them. I've only seen one Becker for sale in real life (bk15) and I bought it (even though the price was way jacked up $20 over regular retail I just had to have it. It was at a chain of sports stores specific to WA. Been back a couple of times and they never got anymore in...

Go to a gun and knife show in your area there is usually a vendor there with a good selection for you to fondle.

Believe it or not, many army surplus stores sell Beckers. I've been to several that have had the 5 and 9 in stock. There's usually a surplus store in most cities...give them a call.

That what I was just going to say. My local surplus store doesn't advertise, but when a local Ka-Bar dealer (who didn't carry the Becker line) went belly-up, the surplus shop had Ka-Bars and Beckers within weeks.

I see an Army-Navy store in Arvada which carries Ka-Bar. If they don't have 'em in stock, they may, (or may not) be willing/able to order the Beckers. Could be worth a call.

Or, ask at your favorite gun shop.

I was at the Cabela's in Kansas City last week and saw a couple of Beckers and a few Ka-Bars, including a couple of the "Zombie" knives. I thought those were funny.

Cabelas is sp expensive that I don't know how they stay in business. I saw a BK16 there for $106; I got it online for $60....

Send me an email if you want Jlockblade. Milehighk5 at Gmail.com I might be able to help.

Check out gun stores as well. I see them pretty regularly in some shops' stock of sharp things.

Knife and guns shows around here have Beckers. The local $$$$ Cabella's does not here. Many places online for the best deals. Does Denver allow knives:D
