Does anyone make a backspacer that will work with knives that use the standoffs?

It seems like it would be easy enough to make a backspacer that fit around the factory standoffs, as it wouldn't require any modification to the knife for warranty purposes. Anyone seen, or done, such a thing?

I'm pretty sure any of the scale/backspacer pimpers could make one for you. They would need to have the knife or the particular model you have to make one. I have made plenty of them for my knives, just time consuming.

Here's a picture of a CQC-11 that I converted to stand-off's with a backspacer.

What kind of equipment do you need to get started making your own scales and backspacers?

I have a pretty cool kydex lab' with a belt sander, drill press, etc.

Drill press is the most important. Variety of different bits for wood, metal and end mill bits too. The rest I do with the piece clamped in a vice or screwed down to something then clamped in the vice (different angle to work with). Manually cut with a saw to the net shape, file away the rest till it is the desired shape. Drill work first (get that right) then do the shaping. Shaping the piece takes way more time. be careful of using power tools for the chosen materials. Use low RPM's and sharp bits to keep the heat down to avoid burning or discoloration.
