Where to Buy Erotic Themed Knives?

Hi everyone :),
I've been wanting to collect more knives with erotic artwork on them. I know united cutlery had the pin up girls pocket knives- but I want something a little bit more unique for a practical price. I liked the Varga Girls collection and Josef Rusnak has very beautiful pieces but $5,000 for a knife is too much for me at the moment Yikes. So do you know where I can get some quality artsy erotic themed knives within the price range of $40-$150 ? Even quality replicas are fine. Thanks.

Come on guys, don't be so hard on the OP. It's a perfectly legimate question. Bob Loveless used a naked woman as part of his mark, after all.

Ms. Foxy, I think your best bet is to find a good skrimshaw artist and have him engrave whatever you want on a knife handle of your choosing. I can't recommend anybody in the US, the only guy I've worked with is down here in Argentina, but I'm sure somebody around BF will be able to point you in the right direction.

Here's an example of my mate's work (not my cup of tea, but it might be yours):

A gas station?

Made me laugh out-loud. Thanks. :D

Laugh followed quickly by chuckle.

More seriously. I've not seen a lot that weren't either junk or very nice (and pricey) scrimshaw work.

Cleaning up recently I came across a Franklin Mint knife with a Boris Vallejo print set in the handle. I don't even remember ever buying it. Apparently there was a set of 12 different ones, so I must have resisted buying any others. The set was listed on ebay a few months ago for $110.

Can I just say, wow. This is the first time I've seen that question here, or anywhere....

Different strokes, I guess (no pun intended... ok, maybe a little)

Check the Busse subforum. Most of them are overcompensating I think....:D

People there are tons of knife collectors looking for this stuff! Every time I look for a pin up knife on ebay it gets 10 bidders or gets sold very quickly! Anyway thanks Franciscomov for taking me seriously : ) . Your friend does great work!

I take you seriously, but it's still a unique question. Don't be offended. Tis a little out of sorts here.

Nice looking work. Any idea the price range?

MS.FOXY should get extra credit then, coming up with an original question in GENERAL is not easy.

Honestly, I have no idea how much he charges. He's a knifemaker, but got his start doing engraving and scrimshaws (he's also a sculptor and tattoo artist, the guy is just good with his hands). I posted his knife as an example.

About your second statement, do you mean you're tired of the lovely plain edge vs serrated posts? :-)

Hey, I was taking you seriously! :D The "gas station" response just made me laugh.

Don't find your question particularly odd. There are NUMEROUS places on this site with MANY examples of interest in...uhh...pin up art ;).

I was only indicating that there doesn't seem to much middle ground quality wise.
I mentioned the FM Vallejo knives, and many are available on ebay. Based on the one I have, I just can't really recommend them. They are better than the junk you find in the mentioned gas stations. They are at least solid and not made of thin tinny metal, so you might enjoy them IF you can get them cheap.

I'm envious of anyone with that kind of talent, both as a knifemaker and artist.

If I came across that one, it would really tempt me.

Somewhat. There would be less repetition if folks used the SEARCH function first, but thats not going to happen (I'm sure I've been guilty of it too).

There only so many times you can participate in these same discussions, before you get tired of them and start getting grumpy, so I just move past them now and keep my mouth shut.

@Alan hey thanks for recommending the Vallejo knives....but they just don't have that special spark. I find them really ugly; they remind me of the kind of junk that old, lonely ladies would order from a mail in catalog to try and fill the emptiness in their tattered souls...The Vallejo knives just don't have that classy look to them....I'm surprised people are selling the collection for $300.... On the other hand, I really wish they had something like this for a lot cheap..... The maker is really talented but wants around $5000 for these...

It is such a niche market that you do not have any middle ground unless you customize an existing production knife's handle with engraving or scrimshaw either on the existing scales or replacements.

jealousy is a foul cologne. :p

Well, if you don't have them, the Varga Girls Collection you mentioned can be had for your price range.
That's all I can find really, I'm sending you a visitor message though.

Ms.Foxy I was just wondering about this the other day. I am always looking for these, you are right there is definitely a small market.

There is a guy on ebay that customizes case trappers, also lots of rough riders can be found with scrimshaw. I never really liked those ones but you might. Good luck in your search if you find a good source let us know

Yeah, for this question your options are basically limited to customs(or customizing/modding a production knife) or really junky, tacky gas station type knives.

Your welcome, and apparently you have good taste.
Don't misunderstand me, I was definitely NOT recommending them, just mentioning them and that the quality was slightly better than trash.

The Vallejo knives just don't have that classy look to them
That they do not for sure.
I honestly can't tell you what possessed me to buy one. It was a LONG time ago and I'm sure I didn't see it in person first.
I assume I gave one a try because of the Vallejo graphic...I've liked a lot of his work over the years.
When I found the knife a couple of months ago, I took it my local knife club where they were properly impressed:rolleyes:...so at least I got a few laughs out of it.

..I'm surprised people are selling the collection for $300....
$300?! More likely not selling.
The set of 12 I saw was $110 and I thought that was overpriced.

On the other hand, I really wish they had something like this for a lot cheap..... The maker is really talented but wants around $5000 for these...
Me too! That is gorgeous!
But we're talking nice size slabs of Mastodon Ivory, Sterling silver bolsters, gold pin openers. And its an automatic. Those materials aren't cheap even before you factor in the quality construction and carving.
