It's called Shoe Goo.

I use Shoe-Goo a lot on my cheapo tennis shoes. The uppers split away from the soles, and the soles crack after the first year or so, but I can get a second year from them with the goo. I get it in a tube in the shoe department at our local Wah-Maht. Same place the $9.99 shoes come from.

And "Goop"? That is a great hand cleaner. Most auto parts stores carry it.

I don't recall where we bought the 1 oz. tube of Shoe Goo, but it worked well to fix the heel of my wife's shoe. The heel was hollow and worn down so much that the hollow cavity was exposed.

I cut a length of bicycle inner tube into small pieces and stuffed them into the hollow heel to fill it up. Then, I sealed the heel with Shoe Goo. A strip of masking tape along the heel's back edge served as a temporary dam while I applied more Shoe Goo to restore some of the heel's surface.

My wife said the fix works great and is extending the life of her favorite shoes.

You can get Goop at Home Depot or similar stores, comes in many formulas. I usally get the outdoor goop since it is UV protected. Here is a link to a free sample of the stuff.

I've used Sportsmans, Household, Outdoors, Plumbers or. Marine Goop on my shoes and sandals for many years with great success. For that matter it works in place of loctite and is my first choice as a contact cement on just about anything. I once plugged a small hole in my aluminum boat that lasted for many years. You can get it at tractor supply stores, hobby lobby or other craft stores and I think some Wal Marts sell it also.
It doesn't seem to me that there is much difference if any between the different names they give it. The ingredients all read the same. I just buy the one thats the cheapest of the bunch usually.
