Looking to get a new BK16 since micarta is out there for them now and they are now flat grinds. I remember my old one felt a little thin in the hand so this go around liners will be used. I am just not sure if anyone is making them or if I will have to make them myself like I do my ESEE ones.

Thanks guys

I got mine from a forum member. Mrn8. He does great work. Really good fit. With micarta the feel is just about 'perfect' for me:

Thanks I sent him an email a couple of days ago via BF, but I have not gotten a response back so I was unsure if he was still doing them or not. Then again he may have changed his email to something other than what is ran threw this site.

My plans for the BK16 incase anyone was curious is liners, micarta, stainless hardware, strip the blade section of the knife only (just doing this for cutting performance I like to keep the handle section coated to help with rust), and maybe a custom taco style kydex sheath.

My brother made me a set out of some cheap plastic cutting boards from Walmart. I'll snap a pic when I get a chance.

Hey, I never saw an email, but I am trying to catch p on some outstanding orders right now. There's been some unexpected travel happening for family stuff and I am making up the time at work. I need to get my current stuff caught up on (and probably some extras for the time people have waited) and will probably stop doing them after that.

That said, those thin cutting boards work great, as do 5-star notebook covers. All you need is one of those little razor knives and a drill for the holes. It's pretty simple with that material, I was using G10, which is nice material, but takes a lot of time to work with by hand.

I did my 17 and 11 with the flexi cutting boards from walmart. I think they cost me 4 or 5 bucks for three. They work really well as liner material. I traced the scale and cut it out just a tad big, installed them and then trimmed down with a sharp knife. It worked well.

Just want to see if I'm still on the list for olive drab small. I'd actually forgotten about them until I saw this post.

Good tip I'm doin this tomorrow

My plan was to make some from a plastic jug as soon as I run out of laundry soap.

Outstanding idea, but i'd rinse it very thoroughly first. prolly gonna try this soon.

In the past, I've made liners from 5-star notebook covers and the signs (e.g. beware of dog) that were thick enough from the home improvement store.

Yep, 4.68 plus tax. There are 3 colors and each one would do at least 6 liners depending on the size. Going to try it as soon as my new backup knife arrives.
