Hi there, long time glancer first time poster. I have a question, were can I buy quality metal cutting blades? My last supplier which I will not say who was has not been welding them correctly (at least on my last batch).

I did an online search and I got these selections:

I use a Lenox Diemaster 2 (8') for cutting nonferrous metals

www.spectrumsupply.com
$23.48
(I emailed the guy and he said if I order over $150 dollars [that would be 8 blades], he would give me $5 shipping otherwise it would be $9.50)

www.toolcenter.com
$27.00
(Shipping is 6.95 for 8)

I can't find any more online companies that sell diemaster 2. Any suggestions?

Also, has anyone used a carbide tip blade before? And if so, how was or is it?

Are you specifically tied to this brand of blade? Good blades can be had from MSC online. You may also want to see if you have a Fastenal locally, they can usually get blades in a day or two.

I'd recommend taking a look at either Enco or MSC. Here's a link to the 8' blades that Enco offers....http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INLMK32?PARTPG=INSRAR2

I have a smaller bandsaw and have been very happy using the "Agressor" blades they sell. I cut everything on them from nickel silver, bars of forged mosaic, and titanium. I go through roughly two blades every three months.

MSC seems to have a decent variety of blades in the 8ft length too...

Are you sure the Home Depot blades are bimetalic? I have never seen any for less then $25-30 (62.5"). That is thier price range for Lennox HSS but I have never even seen BM's there.

Ok, I looked around and I think i'll try that go with my first choice. I called MSC and after 10 minutes, they quoted me $30 a blade. Since i'm buying like 10 of them, I would rather have the 70 dollars in my pocket. I called Spectrum and placed an order, I also asked them what their guarantee was. Its pretty good, they said if they break at the weld (before the teeth are worn down) they will replace the bad blades. I get them tommorrow, i'll let you know how it goes.
