There is really nothing wrong with the philips head screws but if you just dont like
them you could try the likes of "knifekits.com" or a good hard wear store for torx or hex screws.
I can't remember what the thred is for Emersons screws, im prety sure its 2-56 but i will have to check.

I replaced the phillips head screws on my Emerson HD-7 with hex. I have nothing against phillips head screws; it's just easier to take down my knife if I only need one tool. You can find Mil-spec stainless screws at smallparts.com. Just do a search for CSSH-0256001 on their site. And yes, they are 2-56. Good luck!
