Does anyone know what retail stores (in person, not mail order) carry photon microlights? I wanted to get some as last-minute Xmas presents.

TIA

Your best bets are various types of sporting goods stores. Around here I find them at gun stores and at camping stores like REI.

I noticed some at "Batteries Plus" here in town -- I believe they're a national chain...?

WWW.BOTACH.COM -- Great prices, unreliable mail order service (also not practical if you need it for Christmas). If you live in the LA area and are law enforcement/military you can go into the store and purchase direct (government employees also get a discount). You have to show ID to get buzzed in, the store is nothing more than a wharehouse.... I bought a bunch of the photon II lights in various colors for 10 bucks a piece, the cheapest price I've found anywhere by far!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yeah, call around to sporting goods stores in your area. You might also try Army/Navy stores as well.

Around me, the only places I've actually seen them are REI and Bass Pro Shops. But I bought mine from Botach for the $10 price.

Michael, thanks for the tip on "Batteries Plus." There's one pretty close to me. I'll have to check them out.

Good luck to you Aeneas.

I got mine at Bass Pro. There are Batteries Plus here too and the local surplus had a light that looks exactly like a photon II. Beware these ripoffs. The one I had did not last.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I couldn't pass up Botach's price, so I ordered some from them. I printed out a photo and blurb on the Photon off the 'net to stick in my wife's stocking. That is, the stocking hanging on the mantle, not ... oh, never mind.

If you have a Brookstone store in your area, I noticed they had them there. I picked up a few for stocking stuffers also. Good luck!

I saw a good szed display at the Spencer Gifts store at the mall. Expensive though - $18 for a II and $26-7 for a III.

Buy them from a dealer on the forums - they help keep this site open.
