Where to Buy Scales?

Hey, yesterday I found my Buck 110 with a metal detector after it had been missing in the woods for 7 months. It was in relatively great shape for being underground, in the mud, rain, snow, hail, etc. for 7 months, next to a pond. There was little rust on it, which all came off with steel wool. There was, however, some rust in the moving parts of the knife which called for it to be disassembled. The scales were water-logged, and I had to drill into them somewhat to get them off so I could take the knife apart. The pins had dug into the scales as well, so I removed them, too. I was just wondering where I could get some new scales. I also want to know if there is a place that you can buy them or if you have to get them online. I was preferably looking for wood scales.

Here are the before/after pictures:
This is what it looked like when I found it:

Thanks!

I'd send it in to Buck. They are FANTASTIC with stuff like that. They really seem to love the stories behind all the knives sent to them for work. You can get tons of different scales straight from Buck, but if you send it to them they will put them on right, and I bet they will even clean up your knife for you. Years ago I sent in my 110 that had a cracked handle scale. Half of one scale was gone. When they sent it back it looked like new!

Or, you could make your own. Use the old scales for templates and epoxy the new ones on. :). Other than that I would send it back to the factory

There we go, now we can see the pictures :)

That thing has been through hell, it'd be a shame not to send it back for a spa treatment.

I was thinking about making them on my own and epoxying them on, but I was just wondering where I could get scales for it. They don't have to be pre-cut or anything, I just wanted to know if a place like Home Depot would carry some sort of knife scales.

How much money is this "Spa Treatment"?

Buck is really good with warranty work and reconditioning from my experience. It would probably be free but don't quote me on it.

Contact their customer service and see what they say, show them the pictures. That's free :)

Hmm, I'll think about it. But before I send it in, I just wanted to know for sure whether or not there is a place that sells knife scales... like these:

I wanted to know if there is a place that sells them, that I could go pick them up, or if you have to get them online.

TX knifemaker's supply sells scales. I would seriously send it in to Buck. They will do a great job. They can even hook it up with buffalo horn or something else exotic.

Hmm, on second thought, I think I'm going to do it on my own. As you can see in the second picture, I have gotten it cleaned up pretty good. All I need is scales. We have some seasoned maple firewood if all else fails, but I just wanted to know if any hardware stores might carry them. I live in Washington, if that helps.

You can also try a local woodworking store (if you have one nearby). They might have some exotic tropical hardwoods or walnut.
