Vanax is a good steel. Its main disadvantage is a limit of about 61 Rc and even heat treating to that hardness is relatively difficult.

Go for Rc61. It doesn’t gain a lot of extra toughness if you go softer. Alpha knife supply has it as well. I really like Vanax.
