My boyfriend has requested a Victorinox watch to replace his aging Seiko. Since I am not an expert on men's watches, I was hoping you watch people could help me out. He is a rather active individual, works hard with his hands and in the garage, so the watch I choose should be able to handle the rigors of the "handyman" type of guy. This means it should also be waterproof, but not to diving depths. It just needs to be able to survive a shower! I am willing to spend up to $200, but need to act quickly as his birthday is in January. Where can I buy Victorinox watches and can you recommend any particular models? Thanks so much!

Amy,

Definitely check out www.wristwatch.com

I bought my Officer's Model there a little while ago and they are significantly cheaper than anywhere else. Mine was $206 where every other place was $295 for those models.

I've never ordered from them but swissarmydepot.com seems to have a good selection.

I know that I'll probably get slapped-around for this, but have you taken a look at some of the Casio G-Shock watches? Those G-Shocks are TOUGH, shock-resistant, and water-resistant down to 200 meters!.:).

Dann speaks the truth! I got a G-shock from him and have been beating the hell out of it and it is really tough!
