I've got one more trip to make tomorrow at 4 am, and when it gets in, i have some time off down here. I need to take a day to move into my apartment and after that, until i hear further, I am a free man. i haven't bought a knife in a while, and have only brought a few with me. the military and atlantic salt have been put aside for the last six weeks in favor of a schrade 96ot and a buck 110 and i'm enjoying the non-hi tech materials. 1095 has always been one of my favorite steels and Im thinking of looking for another knife. why don't i order it online you ask? well, I don't have an address yet
.
sooooooo any of you folks from the Maryland/Virginia/Delaware area know of any places that carry schrade, case etc around Salisbury MD or Chincoteague VA? I'm looking for traditionals, slipjoints or lockbacks, in 1095 or CV.
On a side note, I was listening to two fellows talk the other day. one might have been 40 and the other was about 60. The older one was from hatteras NC and the younger one was from WV originally but now lives on the island. They were talking about how when they were younger, every kid was expected to have a pocket knife, to know how to shoot, hunt, fish, etc. and nowadays if a kid is caught with a swiss army knife keychain he'd be in deep trouble. The older fellow said that when he was younger, every house had a gun in it and every kid had a jackknife in their pocket. it was good to hear that and it made me smile.
anywhoo, if anyone knows a place or two to poke around in give a heads up. thanks
pete
