Hello, I'm new to the forums and somewhat new to blades so be patient with me!

I hate that it's coming to this, that I have to ask this question! I carry a Cold Steel Shovel in my extend -cab pickup and would like to carry a small fixed blade utility knife. Maybe a small blunt-tip Buck Intrepid. Where should I put it? Out of reach, behind the back seats? Can anyone on the job tell me where I can put it that would be least threatening?

Really depends on what state you live in and what is considered illegal. There is a thing called constructive possession, which means that if you can easily access it then you possess it. So, if the blade length is illegal in your state then put it somewhere out of easy reach.

Thanks for the response.

So it should be out of reach but visible? I'd put it in the trunk if i had one.

Blade is 5 1/2 inches with a blunt tip, is this 50 state legal? I would like to carry Intrepid permanently for off road use; prying, scraping, chopping, rope cutting,digging,ect.... I still can't believe people would find this knife threatening. As for me, I've never commited a crime in my life. I would hate for a traffic stop to turn into a felony! Yikes!

Really depends on the state. In Tennessee anything with a blade over 4" can be considered a weapon.

I wouldn't necessarily say it had to be visible. More important that it is not easily accessible.
