Hello from Australia.
I'm looking for a 0.14inch game warden to maximise slicing ability.
Where can I find one? The BCS is only offering 0.2inch thick at the moment.
Would there be a considerable sliceability difference between .2 and .14 or am I kidding myself?
Thanks
Adam

I believe the Satin's are .14. Stripped, the coated and the original double-cut are .17.

Your best bet is on the exchange here. You could get:

Fence Fry
Red Warden
Fire Warden
LE
Green Linen
Black Tie
Tiger Warden
various Ganza custom-shop offerings

Some of those handles, namely tiger and green, also came in black coated, so be sure you know what you are buying. I've seen some of those on the XC recently. Or put a WTB out there.

And I am sure a post on the WTB section in the exchange would get you the results you desire as well :)

Fence Fry .17 Tony G's edits in red

Both SMOGS are .14
Orange is .14

That is generally right, double-cuts were .17 and that includes any knife that was partialy DC like the Flame and Fence Fried. The on exception is the serrated SMOG which is .14; also added the Orange.:D

Also the Tiger was .17 not .14.

OH and with the Satin SMOGS be sure they are .14 there are a few that are .17 I have one and I know that SKUNK has one and there may be a few more out there.

Of these, the easiest to find ought to be the Orange.

Can also second Tony's comment that there are some Satin SMOGs that are 0.17!

Tkanks for info guys.

i dont think it will be considerable, but you can probably get a better edge profile on the .14 gw's.

vasilli reprofiles many of his busses, including some of the ad's which are normally around .187-.200.

the factory edge, many say, isnt the best profile. i havent had any issues with factory edges, and keep mine at the factory profile.

I prefer my .14 OJ GW over my .17 black tiger warden. I think it fits my hand better and cuts better.

Yes -- it does make a difference.

If you really want a slicer, go thinner. Look around...you should be able to at least find an Orange Warden. If you don't want to work on the edge, you could talk Bill Siegle into it -- he does amazing work.
