Hi, I’m looking to find a piece of acrylic or resin or some kind of exotic looking scale material (not wood) but it needs to be about 2.5 inches wide. Not very long- 5 inches max- but can’t seem to find anything anywhere that is that big. Does anyone have any ideas or maybe something you already own you could offer me without having to break the bank? Thanks, Linus

Many supply houses sell 12x12" sheets.
Some sell 6x12.

Alpha Knife Supply https://www.alphaknifesupply.com/shop/handle-materials/250-handle-material
Pops
Makers Supply
There are many more to choose from

So far the only place I’ve seen that even sells scales at 2.5 inches wide or bigger is kirinite.com so that is where I just ordered. We’ll see how it all turns out.

There are many exotic looking versions of micarta and G-10. One looks like python skin.
Check on FGS, Alpha, USA Knifemakers

Try contacting the suppliers and asking about it? At least here in Aus they seem to source larger sheets of various stuff and then trim it down for sale, so if you ask they will sell you larger stuff

I'm getting ready to break down some beautiful, vintage crosscut Westinghouse Micarta with an awesome patina that I picked up from Kyle Daily a while back. The scales will be 2.5" wide (it can also be cut into blocks). I'll get some pics up after dinner. I think that's the best option I have for something that wide, aside from wood.

I have 20 Fatcarbon recipes in production right now (including a few never seen on the market before), but they won't be ready until next month.

If you are wanting resin specifically, I could recommend a couple makers who I have worked with, and think highly of.

Appreciate you!

Thanks. I would love to see the fatcarbon when you’re ready with it.

Looks like the Fatcarbon is shipping on Monday. :)

I can get you a preview of all the recipes if you would like. All of the cf in this first batch will be .20” thick.
