Where to find Ed Schempp knives hat?

I'd imagine if you contact Ed, that he'd sell you one. Last batch I saw were darker. Black, or close to it, but that over a year ago. I got the one in that photo from him as a gift, when I purchased his all damascus prototype for the Small Persian from him a few years back.

Got any pics of said persian? :D Sounds amazing...

Blade is the same "Spyderbug" damascus Ed made for the 25th Anniversary Delica, only "twisted" to distort the pattern somewhat...

The handle material is starburst nickel iron in a flower filigree pattern...

Oh yeah, sorry for semi-jacking your thread MasterExploder.

Ha! No problem at all, except that I am also jealous.

That is one nice-looking knife, maybe the best-looking Damascus pattern I have seen. Wow!

Wanna sell it Deacon? Just kidding, that is out of my "per-knife" price range for the moment even if you were selling it. Maybe one day.......

The handle looks amazing as well. I have not found myself wanting most of the really expensive folders, I am afraid to lose a $500.00+ knife, but this one calls to me. What a great, functional work of art.

Oh yeah, thanks! I will contact Ed, compliment him on my favorite fixed blade knife in my collection, the Rock Salt, and ask him about buying a hat.

I still want both a Spyderco/Schempp cap and one with Kershaw/Onion. These are my two favorite knife companies and knife makers and manufacturers by far.

I have owned Kershaw knives for much longer longer, starting with that Scuba knife that they still make 28 years ago when I was about 12, but Spyderco gets most of my business these days. :-)

Glad I could be of help, and that you didn't mind the irrelevant stuff.

Don't know if I'm just more careful with my things than a lot of folks, or just step in the smelly brown stuff often enough to maintain a constant supply of good luck, but in 55+ years of carrying a pocket knife, I've never lost one. Can't remember ever losing a decent pen either. Definitely isn't a question of being well organized, I'm not, and a friend who is a borderline OCD neat freak has managed to lose three watches in the past two years. How the hell does someone lose a wristwatch? But, FWIW, when it comes to carry pieces, the Mini Persian proto is even a bit to rich for my blood, and I do carry $500+ folders now and again. :o :D

Ed's pitch was: "Buy a knife and get a hat."

I have one, black hat, in my display case along with the knives. It is that nice looking of a hat.

If I see him at Blade West this month I will ask about how to get a hat.

I contacted Ed awhile back and he was willing to sell me one of his black "Ed Schempp Knives" hats (the flex-fit type). At that time he was asking around $20 for one.
