Hi Jerry,

Where do you suggest we look for information about your new knives?

I called your company this morning, 9:15 am PDT. but could not get a live person.

I tried your website and it has not be updated.

I like the few new knives I've seen in pictures posted here on BladeForum.

What is a knive buyer to do?

Sincerely,
Rich

Just have to wait like the rest of us, Rich.....and it's painful! I imagine Jerry will be rolling out models online (both here and his site) all week!

Strange way to run a business.

I look forward to hearing from Jerry. I would like to know
and not be guessing.

Rich

I can't wait too, but methinks you have to look at it like a car show. I would usually expect to wait a bit after I see the 2004 Ford Wizbanger before I could go down to the dealer and put in an order.

Cheers,
BJB :D

p.s. Hopefully not that long though!

It's Jerry's company and he can run it any way he wants.

I would have thought he would have had the pictures and specs for
his new knives in a file, on his computer, ready to post to his
companies website on Mondy morning after the Blade Show.

One reason I asked the question is because when I spoke to Jerry
a couple of weeks ago he asked if I read several magazines, where
I assume he advertises. I don't read any of those magazines.
I want a reliable source for information about his knives. That is
one reason I spent my "dime" and made a call to his company this
morning.

Rich,
Considering some of the knives weren't even finished till early last week it was a tight time table just to get them ready for the show. Jerry is taking a few day's off on the drive home from the show, and I'm sure the girls are off atleast today trying to recover from 3 days on their feet. I'm sure that sometime next week they will be on the website.

You ask me, the knives are worth the wait...:D

You want to know about having to wait!?!?

I have been away from the US (and my beautiful wife!) for 5 months and 11 days and won't be home for another 29 days...
That's a long time to not get any...

...homecooking, that is!!:D

That's fine you know all this but it seems odd a customer would have to find it out through you (I assume you aren't part of the Busse company) on a net forum. A comment like yours above is something I would expect to see on the Busse website so that we wouldn't have to dig around. in a hit or miss way. Even a recording on the company's answering machine would be helpful. It looks like a little lack of respect for the customer.

Order? I got my New Ford Wizbanger already, and it's got 15000 miles under it.:p ;) :D

Rich, I've tried to understand your approach and your comments as a part of frustration( which we ALL have while waiting for the debut) and the desire to own what alot of people consider THE BEST knives around. Most the info you've seen on this thread has been around the forum for a little while. Alot of it has even been posted by Jerry. Please keep in mind that this is the Busse Combat section of BladeForums and this is where alot of the new info comes out. Also, the Blade show is one of the few times where alot of makers and fans get a chance to be together so a shop being closed due to this isn't uncommon. I suppose what I'm asking is to be a little more patient and look around this forum for some of your questions. Am I a employee of Busse Combat? No, but if you search under my posts on this forum, you'll see that I know where you're coming from and Jerry and I solved the problem offline which in my opinion is where any beefs should be handled. Sorry, rant off ;)

Rich,

I distinctly remember you railing against the injustices of the standard sheath and the blade thickness on the SJ just a couple of weeks ago. I also remember that Jerry called you and did what he could to resolve your discontent. Where I come from, the owner of a company calling you personally about a complaint you posted on an internet site is anything but "disrespectful". In fact, that sounds a whole lot like the guy cares what you think of his product. If memory serves, you seemed less than enthusiastic about his attempt to make things right with you and let the world know that right here. I can think of countless examples of customers who have stepped on other manufacturers toes in a much more gentle manner who got basted on their respective forums right in front of God and everybody. I think the fact that you did not receive that sort of treatment here should say something to you about the caliber of person that Jerry is.

Beyond that, the guys who have attempted to answer your questions in Jerry's absence have done so with the best of intentions, and out of a genuine interest in sharing what information they have about a product line that is arguably in it's "preview stage". I doubt there is anything to gain by being short and/or rude with them. This is a friendly bunch and they are responding to your "net forum" questions with "net forum" answers. No need to be less than polite.

To cut to the chase, I (for one) am sorry that you are not finding Busse Combat's customer service up to your lofty standards and sincerely hope that your complaints are addressed by someone you deem worthy of fielding them. I'm sure you still have Jerry's e-mail address or can find it in fairly short order. My advice to you is to contact the man directly and discuss this and any other problem you have with his company in a forthright and private manner. By doing so, I am nearly positive that you will not receive any of the apparently unwanted background noise or comments from the peanut gallery.

Alpha,

Who's your contact at Ford? My dealer said "No Wizbanger for you for one year!"

Cheers,
BJB :D ;) :p
