Can someone tell me where they got the items for their mini-survival kits, I'm especially having trouble finding a beta light, but I would like to know where you guys got everything else at, incase I can find better quality items. I'm looking for places to get only the highest quality items.

As I have assembled mine I've had to go to multiple sites to get exactly the things I've wanted.

A good place that brings a lot of good suggestions for equipment together with some links to places where you can buy stuff is http://www.equipped.com/

Allow me to suggest the Inova mini-LED light over the Photon II. It is much the same size & weight as the Photon, but is IMHO preferable due to the Inova's water resistance. I believe Photon has not yet made their mini-LED lights capable of dealing with water. Someone please correct me if they are now making their lights waterproof. Search here on BFC for other posts by me regarding the Inova and you'll see why I consider them to be waterproof, not merely resistant. The Inova lights are rated to run for 72 hours on a pair of 2016 lithium batteries.

1SKS (a BFC sponsor :)) has them for $9.50, so they are quite cheap. http://www.1sks.com/store/inova-microlights.html Also, the Inova microlights DO have a constant-on switch. The info regarding a constant-on switch on the webpage is incorrect. I verified this with a phone call to 1SKS a few months ago.

Beta lights come from the U.K. Try www.sass-kit or pennrith survival. They are not very bright. The glow rings might work for you.<><
I've seen this mention before, what is a "glow ring"?
Thank you,
Martin

PS- I agree, beta light is now "obsolete," you can buy excellent microlights for reasonable price now. I did not know the small Invoa was waterproof, that is good to know.

For single edged razor blades (some lists for kits has these), go to a hardware store and look for replacement blades for Stanley (brand) paint scrapes. These are the ones that look almost like ordinary shaving razor blades, but has a small piece of metal folded over the spine.
