One time someone posted a link of a great topo map site. It might have been with USGS. Anyway I didnt save it and cant find it. Id appreciate the link if anyone has it.

Im in the middle of a download with Peerblock running so its blocking the site so I cant get you the address, but google "usgs store map locator" then zoom in on the map, once you have zoomed in enough to see the map boundaries, place a balloon, then click the balloon, then download. This is all off my head so it may be a little different but I know you can figure the rest out.

Is the lake big enough to be on a nautical chart? The Army Corps of Engineers compiles the charts for navigable inland lakes and waterways - maybe they have what you're looking for.

No its just a 100 acre lake. I can find a map of the lake without topo and a topo map without lake.

The lake is likely a man-made impoundment then, created since the last survey for that topo quad. You can use the lake map to draw in the lake boundries on the topo since, regardless of size, lakes are flat. And the shore will follow the contour lines of the elevation of the dam. Cartographer. Become one you must. Also you can use google earth to get photos of it.
