I've been drooling over the Mr Mojo busse blade? Can someone tell me:
(1) where to find it? I've checked the bussecombat site, but they don't seem to carry it (anymore)
(2) how much for it?
(3) how Mojo fares compared with Basic 9, Steelheart or any recurve blades with similar capabilities and price range - including customs?
(4) what the advantages of a recurve blade are?
thanks!

Hello,

I have just recieved my first busse blade, a steel heart 2 E, but I have made some recurves out of 5160.

Let me start with the busse.. They are made of INFI, are guaranteed against any faillure, are great users and feel great to work with.

I know, it sounds like a commercial slogan. It is enough to say that INFI is addictive to work with. It is really not comparable to any steel alloy I have used, and I have used a whole lot :D

Let me answer question 1 and 4, the others would require someone who owns a mojo.

1. I suppose you either ask at the busse forum here, or contact the custom knife shop of busse combat, they can pretty much make anything to your wishes, I suppose the Mojo's are coming from there.

4. The benefit of a recurve is the largly increased slicing ability, because if you swing a blade to something, the recurve will act as a hook and draw the steel deeper into whatever you're chopping at. Kinda like a really big serration. A straight blade will impact, and then slide off the target because your hand will move on due to kinetic energy, and the blade will be drawn out of the target at worst, or stop moving at best.

Compare a machete to a bolo or parang, and you'll know.. the best machete's have a flowing recurve, like the bush-hog or patrol machete by becker.

greetz and take care, Bart.

Hi :) Let me see if I can help you out with those questions......

1) While the Mojo has been discontinued there are several dealers thay may still have them in stock. A good place to start is Larry at http://www.bladeart.com/ .Even if he doesn't have one personally the man knows the whole fricking world and may be able to help you plus he is a great guy. At the same time it would certainly pay off to place a post here at BFC in the "Knives Wanted" section.

2) Right now the Mojo has been keeping it's Retail price of $327. On occasion you'll see one listed for a little higher, but it hasn't been discontinued long enough for the secondary market pricing to take over.

3)It is more than safe to say that the Mojo will ride right up there with the finest mid-sized recurve fighters in the custom market. As with all Busse blades she is equipped with INFI for steel. I used to own a Mojo and can personally tell you that the balance is spectacular. For a mid-sized recurce fighter there is no forward weight on the blade.

4)A recurve blade will give you added performace for slashing and basic defensive/offensive requirements. As for survival, a recurve will serve you well, however you'd be better off with something along the lines of a Natural Outlaw, Steel Heart of my personal favorite...the Battle Mistress.

Hope this helps, if you need or want any more information you're always more than welcome to stop by the BFC Busse forum or the Busse Combat forum :)

thanks, I will lookit bladeart and post the questions at the busse forum. i love the looks of the mojo.:D
