hey all i'm wondering if any of you have rehandled a yellow slipjoint before? Where can ya find a yellow material similiar to the delrin? Like on Case, etc. Ive been to the usual places online and nothing like it. alot of funky plastic/composite material but i'm not seeing just a nice yellow! I have an old camillus fishermans luck and the scales are shrinking and beginning to curl, i'm thinking it would be a good candidate for a rehandle as the knife itself is a little rough but has got years left in it:thumbup:
any leads?
thanks
ivan

if i were looking for something different that you can't find anywhere, i would say you could probably get whatever you want from a micarta maker, like shadetree phenolics on the forums here..

you could have him make some nice yellow paper micarta or linen micarta that would never shink or crack or anything.

thanks for the ideas, im not familiar with micarta, is it textured?
id like just a simple smooth material, suppose i'll keep lookin
thanks
ivan

It depends on what it's made out of. Micarta is a resin and fiber composite, and it can be as smooth as the original fibers. Paper Micarta is very smooth, linen less so, and canvas even less so. Yellow paper Micarta would work pretty well, I think.
