I stoped by the local Radio Shack and they looked at me like I was crazy, even looked at there catalog and couldn't find the parts.

I need acording to Bob Warner's design a 0-140V variac, and a Bridge rectifier 250V 5amp, the rest I can find easily enough.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Will,

I bought the $49 dollar model from these guys: http://www.alltronics.com/transformers1.htm

Very nice unit. Simply put one of those radio shack bridges on the output side and you're all done. Nice 5 amp until with a fine level of control.

Actually I wire the ac/dc switch and bridge inside that little box you see on the front. There was enough room in there that I didn't need any separate box. There's a volt meter on the front too. kinda cool. All in one unit - nice and clean. Works as an etcher too.
