where to get good leather lacing for landyard?

Walk up the block to the shoe repair guy. He'll have some leather boot laces that are great for lanyards.

Yup :)..shoe repair places work.., and also saddlery or feed & tack shops. Since you live in NYC.., I'm guessing a local shoe repair is easiest...

I use leather shoe-laces for some of my lanyards, the kind you can get at Wal-Mart and other discount stores. Don't cost too much, and seem to work for me. I've had some for 6 or more years with no breakage. I think you may get a better quality lace from a shoe repair place. Also, look at festivals where they do historical re-enactments. They usually have people selling period supplies, antler, bone, beads and stuff like that. I've found some nice deer-skin and other leathers at some of these.

you can go into walmart into the craft section and they sell spools of leather lace made by the leahter factory. You can also go into tandy leather, or a leather factory store if there is one, or both near you. The spool of leather lace, or card of lace (you can buy it either way) is cheaper at walmart though.
