Anyone know where I can get a pair of inexpensive grivory handle scales? The only reason I need them is to mail them to my Grandpa for a template. He is a woodworker and his health is deteriorating, so I'm not sure how much longer I have with him. I would like to have something he made for me that I use regularly (I have a table, shelf and toys (from when I was younger-although I still play with them-lol). I have some diamondwood handle slabs that I was going to try and do myself but I would rather him do it. Thanks.

You could give Kabar a call or there will probably be someone on here that will just send you a set.

I called Kabar. They took my info but said they dont sell them or have any laying around. Very very nice, though. I found some on the bay, but for $25. Right. I might as well spend the 40, get the micarta and send the ones that are on it. I'll have to save up and do that I guess.

yeah, I couldn't get Kabar to sell me any grivory either. Weird. I'm surprised they don't over-order a bit for warranty and sales.

Ask in the Snark thread or Wanted forum. Someone has some laying around that they'll send you.

Dude, give me his address, I'll send them out tomorrow. E mail me, i've got several sets sitting around.

If OF'er can't send some out to you, I have a set or two around too. But knowing OF'er, you're in great hands already.

Why don't someone send me a set or two, to stipple. I'll send em back for ya to try out, if you haven't already?

bsmith, after you stipple some id love it if you could ship me a set to try out, i only have 1 set, so i dont wanna mess them up myself and i cant send them out, if i did i couldnt use my knife for awhile lol. i can ship them back to whoever after i test them or send them my regular set if i prefer the stipple.

If I can get some, I'll make you first on the list to give em a shot. I love mine. Theyre the best way I've found, to keep a good grip on your blade, under hard/heavy use.

ok well if everyones got some extra some1 let bsmith stipple a set for me PLEASE? uh... ill give you some love.......or a 2nd entry in my contest...or love.

Thanks bro, you get love and a 2nd entry, if OF is sending you the set then OF gets love and a 2nd entry too!

Ok, I lost track of the number of scales needed and already fulfilled, but the first 2 people who email me can have my pairs. Anything for my BF friends and fellow becker addicts. :)

I was also wondering about being able to buy the attaching nut and bolts for the grips. I have a Camillus Becker Patrol machete blade blank, once it is ground i will eventually buy micarta grips for it. There are lots of places selling grips but nobody seems to include the attaching nuts and bolts. (I have two Bk-2s that i use but they were also acquired sans grips).
Is there anything special about the nuts and bolts Becker used or should i just be able to get the right size at any good hardware store? Whats the actual size of the bolt and nuts?
