Where to get hickory

Hi all, I prefer to make my own handles, wondering where to get good hickory in western wa? Mostly for hammers but also some sledges, axes, and hatchets. So far I've been using ash, and I have a little bit of elm, but would love to use hickory if I can.

Try Hardwoods Specialty Products in Renton. They supply much of the local cabinet industry. They advertise hickory. You might also talk to your local tree service about getting some black locust. It's not native to the NW but we have a fair amount just the same.
