Where to get Lanyard Doodads?

i buy them in a store that specializes in beading; i.e. people who like to make necklaces, bracelets, etc. they also carry nice long strips of leather just the right thickness for a lanyard. and if you can get deer antler (hunting friend; ebay ?), it's easy to make your own. roland

You can go to the For Sale sections on various forums and there are individuals that sell the plastic pulls. As for the metal "doodads", hit your local crafts shop that sells beading supplies or search online and look for metal tube beads, eBay is a good place for these too. Just make sure you get the beads that have a large enough hole that you can get the cord to go through.

Hit the craft section of wallyworld. They have black beads, 100 for ~ $1.50. Not sure if they have any other "tactical" colors, but they have many different kinds.

I make my own sliders (beads) by drilling the lanyard hole through the material and then chucking it up in the vertical lathe (drill press). I like this process because you rarely get the same slider twice. I started with olive wood ink pen blanks (1"x1"x6") cut into 1" cubes, I'm about to make some from white-tail antler.

"Vertical Mill", Drill Press....hey I like that. Good idea too since I'm about to go down and get myself one.
