Where to get Oakleys at a discount?

I made the mistake of making an impulse buy on a pair of Oakley Eye Jackets at Costco as I needed a new pair of shades. The mistake was that I'm really not happy with th efield of view as the frames get in the way so I'm going to return them tomorrow. But as so often happens, once I've crossed teh mental barrier and initiated a purchase, I ended up doing a little research to find a set I'd be happy with. After visiting a few sunglass retailers, the usual thing happened, I fell in love with a pair that is stupid expensive. I NEED a pair of Oakley X Metal XXs. Anyone have a source for Oakley at a discount? They seem unusually good at controlling the prices their stuff gets sold for, almost to the point of price fixing. Help me out guys, where's the deal?

You can get pretty good, but not outstanding, deals on eBay. This by itself suggest there's not much discount going on anywhere.

I was hoping to avoid ebay as I'd kind of like to get the warranty for as much as these things cost. Sometimes it is a real curse the be able to appreciate the cool stuff....

I've been able to get as much as $100 off retail for a pair of Oakley X-Metal XX from eBay. Search for the username "mickey**disney". He has 100% good feedback and I've dealt with him before. Really good to do business with.

FYI they will sell shades to cops and military for a DEEP (eye jackets for 50-$75) discount if purchased with a letter head. Im not sure if there is a quantity restriction or now. But, if you know any cops you might ask them.

The discount program is military, not LE unless they have made a VERY recent change. I have seen Oakley offer a discount when they set up at an LE only shoot.

Oakley's are famous for basically never going on sale. The best you'll do is if you get it during Footlocker's 30% off Friends and Family deals. Though many stores don't even carry them.

You are also in luck as Costco's nationwide are clearing out old/discontinued models right now at significant savings. Check it out now.

Wow, I think this is the first time I've seen a thread where there were no solid leads besides ebay. I wish some of the manufacturers I represent were as good at controlling their pricing as Oakley seems to be. It would make my job a lot easier.

Sygyzy, you'll notice in the original post that this whole adventure started with a pair of Jackets purchased at Costco. They don't have the ones I now need:(

What did you expect. I am not sure if you went into this realizing that. This is like asking "Where can I find Arc flashlights for cheap?"

Well, ARC stopped all 3rd party distribution, ie no more vendors. So you can only buy it direct. That's even worse than Oakley.

You should go tell that to the guys over at Glock Talk in the cops forum. They just organized a group guy for them.
