Where to get water filter tubing?

Okay, so I was going through my 72 hour kit and found that some of the tubing for my water filter (Pur Hiker) had molded or mildewed inside, ergo I need to replace it. Any thoughts as to where to get new tubing? It's 3/16 inside diameter and 5/16 outside or so it appears. I went to Lowes and all they had was some clear very stiff stuff, not like the original tubing at all? Thoughts would be welcome.

Your local hardware store might have the tubing in their plumbing department.

I bought a roll of silicone tubing for extending my Katadyn filters from an aquarium supply shop.

Good range of diameter, lengths and types, at low cost.

Also good for making insulating sleeves for Ti cooking gear handles.

If you order tubing from McasterCarr, I would spend a little extra and get the silicone tubing Here's a part number to some food grade tubing: 3038K14.

They have many different sizes, so you can pick and choose which one will best fit. In the mean time, you could scrub/wash out the tubing (assuming it is most likely silicone tubing), then soak it with a 1/10 dilution on standard house hold bleach. Rinse well and you should be ok.

Ooo good one! I didn't think of that.

Ya an aquarium place would be the spot. Check some pet stores. I have the same filter and could probably use some extra too. Did you try just really cleaning it. Soak it in bleach solution?
