Good morning everyone, I'm new to the forum, and to be quite honest, know nothing about knives except chef's knives. However, I have a man who I have been helping that is rather young (64) and went into a nursing home. He has a rather large collection of knives, I think mostly hunting type knives (even though he isn't a hunter). He wants me to sell them for him, but I am clueless on where I can go get a decent and honest opinion of what they are worth and either sell them as a lot or put on ebay. I don't have a lot of time to spend listing everything on ebay for the next year, but want him to get a fair shake on them. I live in NJ.

I believe some of them are just cheapo knives (he was a hoarder and has mental health issues), but some of them are hand carved bone handles and such (at least that's what he told me), and some are pocket type knives as part of collectors series.

I'm not sure what type of place or person to go to for advise or help. Knowing that forums are full of experts, I thought I would get some information from all of you.

Apologies if this is an inappropriate post, I just don't know where else to go to get this type of information. any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes purchase a gold membership here under 'paid subscriptions.' Then photograph all the knives and upload the photos to an image sharing site like imgur.com or postimage.org. Then start a new thread here, with the pics from the image sharing site inserted (using the 'image' button) and any description of the knives you can provide.
