Where to go?

Ok...here's a question for all of our Texas guys; Ron53, ROCK6, darbyfett, I'm sure there are more.

I live right outside of Austin in Lago Vista and have the day off of work for once. So...where should I go hiking? I usually make the drive down to McKinney Falls, but would rather try something else. Are the county parks around here worth a crap? I went to one last summer and it sucked arse.

Gimme suggestions.

You,re pretty close to E.R. State Park near Fredericksburg.We hiked there in Oct and it was great. A lot of room to get away from everyone and some very unique rock formations. Take some basic climbing gear if you're going off trail.Hamiltons Pool and the Reimer Farm area are relatively new county parks west of Austin also--KV
