Where to obtain knife/steel information to choose my next knife accuratly.

Hey,

I would like to ask you people, to share your experience and to tell me where I can find essential information regarding knifes (also aspects like storage, coating and lubrication, sharpening, guidelines to chose the right blade-compromise that will fit your needs, I realise that there is nothing as an absolute knife, there is always a trade off. I'm thus looking for sources of information on the Net or usefull booktitles, anythings that extends my knowledge is welcome. Please be specific

Yep. I'd say BFC is the Encyclopedia of Knife Knowledge. Consider getting a premium/gold membership for the search function, it's gonna be worth it in the long run. I'm going to get one.

yeah, that makes me wonder, does that kind of membership really holds benefits as opposed to Basic Membership. I realize that this forum is very much alive and holds loads and loads of relevant information for me, sometimes it is all a bit "too much" for me... I think a search option would be a good help.

Please advise regarding the different sorts of membership on this forum, I realise it is a standard in the knife world, a reference that is eagerly used by anyone who really is into quality knives. This forum brings you original viewpoints and fresh questions you find out that you had the same problem yet you did not realize it
