Where to Obtain one?

I'm not LEO, I'm wondering is there any chance of obtaining a fresh new XM-18 from dealers? (Don't like buying $600 knives from randos on the web) If so how and where?

Your best bet will be at a blade show or in the for sale section of the forums. Sometimes Rob will post a few in here as well but you'll have to be quick.

$600 isn't such a bad price now. If you had asked me a year ago, I'd say wait for it to pop up at a dealer, but now they're going for $650-700 at the very least on the forums, and sometimes even more on dealer sites. I'd say if you can, get one now, see if you think it's worth it, if not, just sell it, you won't have any trouble doing that.
 
Thanks for the reply guys! Other than the ZT production version, is there any plans for the future to increase volume that would match the demand?

How often does Rob have them for sale on the forums?
 
Rob doesn't sell directly on the forums as far as I know. You can get one of of the following ways:
1. LEO can order directly from Hinderer
2. Anyone can get one from a dealer when they have them in stock.....you have to be quick and get lucky.
3. Anyone can get one off different forums.......usually at a significant markup form what Rick charges directly from him.

Thrill, that is not correct. Occasionally, Rob does sell them directly on the forums here in the hinderer section of the boards. It does not happen that often...but it does happen (normally before big knife shows.) Also, when it happens they are sold within minutes after Rob posts them for sale.

For the record, Rick has increased production every year since the XM-18 was introduced.
 
Gen 3 with a production ground blade and a G-10 scale is $385. Add $100 for a carbon fiber scale.
 
I really like that you can find a Hinderer pen anywhere you go looking for a Hinderer knife that is out of stock. Now with the specialized clips coming out I'm sure there will be a huge supply of those to go with a knife you can't get.
 
Well, the knives sell as fast as the dealers put them up for sale.

Do you guys know if an active army reserves can purchase a blade from Rick? Or do you have to be active duty? Finally thinking about getting an xm-18
