Hello everyone, this is my first time making a knife. Recently, I just finished shaping the knife and doing the basic grind. I was wondering where to send this knife so that it can get heat treated. I live around NY so it would preferably be somewhere close. The knife is rather small (8 inches) and uses s90v steel. Any reccomendations?

Probably the most popular commercial place is Peters' Heat Treat in PA.
A lot of people here send their blades to Jarod Todd who is also a forum member.

Texas knife .com under the services tab, or JT. I had Peter's ruin about 15 of my AEB-L blanks, then blame me and AKS for giving me bad steel.

For one blade definitely not Peters. Their prices only make sense in batches IMO. Texas Knifemaker, Jarrod Todd (great work, and he's here on the forum), or Tru Grit for single knives or small batches. I've had only good experiences with all of them!

Jarod Todd. I've been working my way through the first 31 blades I sent to him a few months ago and my 2nd batch of 18 blades is being heat treated currently! Awesome job on everything I have ground and played with so far!

Another recommendation for Jarod Todd.

Great guy, well equipped for an excellent heat treat.
