Stu,
I have the knife and have inspected it for the problem you noted. if you don't mind, i would like to have it refurbished and replace the teflon washers with bronze ones. We may need to replace the liner. The flex in the liner is normal and that gives the knife the slight up and down play you felt. I can only get it to do that if i push down on the top of the blade. In a normal cutting motion, you don't get that as the steel backbone of the knife acts as a positive stop for the blade.
I will see if i can get these changes made and get the knife back in the mail to you this week.
Does this sound like a good plan?

Hey Stu,
I examined the knife. The slight up and down is normal, caused by the flex in the liner. As long as the liner does not lay on the inner side of the handle, it should be fine. I would, however, like to send you a diferent knife. We have made some modifications to the Odyssey since yours was made. Does this sound like a good plan?

Take care,
