Where to start with Swamp Rat Knives?

Ok so I decided to look around for a small EDC fixed blade that will literally do everything. Something I can have faith in and not sweat being gentle with. Everything from boxes to burlap, and everything in between. Busse really caught my ear with all the INFINI praise around these parts so I started investigating.
The short version is they're well out of my price range. So I start checking out Swamp Rat, logical progression no?

So I head to the main page and check it out. I'm encountering a bump or two, the page that used to show a line up doesn't anymore. I can't seem to get past the intro page.

I keep cruising and find the swampshack. Now we're talking.

I see a lot I like but some have prices, some don't. So I need a little intel. I'll list the ones I like and if someone could tell me what kind of $$ I'm looking at I'd appreciate it. Or make suggestions like, "dude if you like that one you'll love this one.
Looking for blade length of 5" or less, and that sexy sculpted handle.

LIST

1. The Ratweiler is sexy as hell. I like the small one
2. SAR Rat... very nice!
3. Bog Dog... Nice.
4. Dog Skinner. Oooooh, THAT makes my turkey perky!
5. Rat Hunter... also nice

yeah ok so what am I looking at cost wise and how do I wrap my grubby little rat-wantin hands around some of these?

Hello Chambers,
I'm glad that you stopped by.

The knives you have listed are from the old line, which has been discontinued in order to revamp the line.
Pictures of the new line can be seen here
http://www.swampratknifeworks.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=004405
and will be sold exclusively at the Swamp Rat Company Store that can be
located here www.shop.ratknives.com The M6 is now available at the Company Store. The next knife available will be the Howling Rat LM, a smaller knife which will hopefully be ready later this fall.

Please watch this forum and the Rat Chat forum on our website for the most up-to-date info and announcements regarding the new line and options.
I try to update the forums as soon as I have info to pass along

:D:D

Morning Eric, Thanks for the reply and the intel.
Is that the entire new line up? Not to be rude but I didn't see anything I liked. How hard would it be to get my hands on one of the ones listed?
Am I going to have to go to the second hand market?

The one's you have listed will need to be found on the secondary market. The Rat Hunter has a very similar counterpart in the new line. You may also want to check out www.scrapyardknives.com

Will the folder come back or do I have to do the ebay thing? There have beed a few come up there and the price wasn't that bad.

So will there be a folder back in teh next years or so?

Also I was wondering if you are running like Busse now and just producing one knife at a time or as you add knives you'll just keep them all available.

Thanks,
TonyG

The HR is not in this pic, but here is the new lineup (not to scale)
