Does Gander Mtn carry the Spyderco Sharpmaker? Need to go and check out what options I have there unless someone could let me know a cheaper source. Thanks:cool:

Then there's www.newgraham.com which sells it for $46.81 and sells the ultra-fine rods for $8.68 each. On top of that, they also give free fridge magnets with Curad bandages for when your knives get so sharp bandaids are a way of life.

The natural progression is as follows:
1. You have dull knives.
2. You want to make your dull knives sharper.
3. You find this forum and buy every sharpening gadget known to man (without really learning the basics or sharpening).
4. You finally get the hang of a couple of your gadgets and get an edge sharp. (This is the beginning of the addiction known as Sharpoholism.)
5. Since you're not used to handling a sharp edge, you cut yourself.
6. Your sharpening ability improves faster than your knife handling ability, so you cut yourself more.
7. Eventually, your knife handling ability surpasses your sharpening ability, and you don't bleed as much.
8. You have now reached the point of no return and you begin to accept the fact that you are, and forever will be, a Sharpoholic.

Between 5. and 6. you get more sharpening stuff stones, leather, and all kinds of sandpaper and polishing paste. You start trying different methods, edge types, and finishes.

$40 at ebay for Sharpmaker, but if you want ultra-fine stone too ( you do not have to have it, but it is nice option) - go NGK, it is good place.
