I've been looking for some time now to purchase a new blade, possibly two. One would be a simple boot knife, though more detailed than most available on the internet (ignore this one for now), while the other would be rather intricate and larger, more of a belt knife. I've been looking through knife shops and online sellers for ages, with little to no luck on what I'm looking for. I'm not entirely sure what the strongest metal would be for such use, but I feel that stainless steel is likely too weak. While I think the knives i've seen available look beautiful, I feel that blades I own must be fully usable, as knives were originally made as weapons for self defense. It's just a personal preference of mine; if I purchase a blade, I want it to be made the way a blade was meant to be made.
My struggle has been to find someone willing to integrate the beauty and craftsmanship that I see within collector's blades with the practicality of a fully-functional self-defense weapon. Most available beautiful blades are simply meant for display or collection, while most practical ones are either bland or boring. I seek a much better quality weapon, not simply a display item, hopefully for a good price, for the few that I've seen that are both combat-ready and designed well seem to cost upwards of $1,000 USD - a bitmore than I'm currently willing to spend. I hope to remain around or below the $500-600 range. I'm looking to have a custom made hilt and handle as well.

I'd love to have a knife made as these, with the image of a tiger replacing that of the bull or deer. I love their blade, hilt, and grip designs, as well as their prices, but have had terrible luck contacting them. The email address provided doesn't work and the phone number gives me a dead answering machine.
I also like the blade on this piece, but feel that it is rather too large:

I've emailed multiple smiths and manufacturers and have come up empty handed. With this being the largest blade community I've ever seen, I'm hoping one of you knowledgeable fellows can help me out.
