I just received the most current issue of the AG Russell publication, "The Cutting Edge". I was astounded at the asking prices of the Model 25 miniature at $1,295.00 and the Model 3 miniature at $995.00. I realize that Russell takes consignments and may not have any say-so in the asking price. Wow! Who the heck is paying those prices?

Not me.

They are collector's items.
And they are nifty little knives.

I just don't collect handmade-but-still-production pieces in that price range (!?!??).

On both of those knives there were only 1500 of them made so the price has steadly increased as the popularity of RMKs has increased over the last few years. Those selling prices are about average for those knives no matter where they are offered for sale. I am assuming that the Mini 25 had the stag grip. If it was one of the less than 100 of the Mini 25s that were done up in ivory and was selling for that price I would recommend buying it ASAP.

Just after Christmas I had lunch with Rhett Stidham and Paul Basch (A.G. Russell's buyer). We started discussing what we would pay for Mini's and Paul told me what he would pay. After hearing that I can assure you that A.G. isn't making that much on them.
