Hi guys.. I've been wanting a 165ot for awhile now. I'd rather have the carbon version but I've given up on that one. So this leaves me with 2 options. A. I can get a Chinese copy for $20 or B. I can get a USA made shrade+ for $45. What's the big difference in those 2 and would one be better than the other...thanks again

The carbon steel originals are still readily available and plentiful. If you want a cheap imported copy, buy it. The recently finished stainless blades should be ok for users if you don't mind the cheesy laminated wood handles. The stainless is a bit harder to sharpen but keeps it's edge a bit longer than the old carbon steel.

Thanks codger...I can't seem to find any usa carbon ones. Only the scrade+ ....should I search something specific

Codger's advice is spot on; as long as the BLADE has USA stamped on it, you should have a user that will make you happy. However, if, for any reason you want an authentic non-stainless 165 with original Delrin handles, don't give up so easily. You can do it for $50 or less as long as you don't need shiny. Search KNIVES>FIXED>VINTAGE>SCHRADE. And use a robot bidding service, not the service which xxxx provides. Think GIXEN. You should have no problem scoring within a month.

There are no less than five prospects currently listed on an auction place. Just know the real deal from imported copies. Email me if you would like one confirmed.
