Hi folks,

I have a Spyderco Manbug, but I am looking for a 2 inch bladed folder of some sort. What do you recommend?

(please, no knives with blades longer than 2 inches)

Spyderco Chicago... about $44.

I have a Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite but want a different blade style. The Dragonfly is over 2 inches.

I know CRKT makes the Shrimp and Cold Steel makes the Micro Recon, but I have not actually handled either. I am certain there are other options out there, too.

Case Tiny Trapper slip joint
Buck Companion slip joint
Boker SubCom - frame lock
Blade Tech Mouse - lock back

Some good suggestions already. If a slipjoint is fine, a Victorinox model may fill the bill. Or a number of GEC models would work too. GEC's pop up on the exchange pretty regular.

There are some good suggestions. I like the fact that the Chicago has a bit larger handle. I have a Cat already. The Al Mar looks good, too but the blade is pretty short.

The Spyderco Lava has a 1.85" blade, and a handle designed by a true martial artist to provide a very secure grip.

My lava feels very much like a small Strider SnG in my hand, due to the choked up ergonomic position with deep choil to keep fingers in place. It's the only sub 2" knife I've ever felt confident in as an all-around cutter.

Lots of people, myself included, waited for years to get the current G10 version. If the design appeals to you, get one, or a few, while you can.
