I have been playing with the idea of a neck/pocketable fixed blade. I really like the looks of the A. G. Russell Woodswalker and the Hunter's Scalpel. Which is the best all-purpose knife? I'm leaning toward the latter for use as a small skinner and bird knife as well.

I have the woodswalker which is basically comparable to an every day kitchen paring knife. That said, if you're looking for an economic, light duty knife it will certainly fill the bill.

A really good paring knife.

Consider buying the hunter's scapel, which is only sold with the sheath, and the Woodswalker without. If you decide you want to carry the Woodswalker, you can buy the sheath later.
