Hi there,

I have 1 day to decide, If I get the following knife from Benchmade.
I need to know, which model it is and what blade steel it is.
Additional it would be nice to know what the value of the knife might be.

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,
Julian

I don't think Benchmade ever made a karambit, and the lock is not a benchmade lock. Correct me if I'm wrong guys but that looks to be a complete fake.

In the knife world I think just about everything's been copied. In this last few years not only has the sheer volume increased, but also, unfortunately so has the quality. For example, the old HK 14205 at the top is the original, the bottom the copy. To the laymen, it would be hard to tell the difference...so the answer is to KNOW YOUR PRODUCT.

Here 'tis:

Obviously a bad bad fake. In the future, to be safe, try buy knives on BF only,, eBay sometimes but Ebay has A TON of fakes/clones..
A fake knife on BF gets weeded out pretty quickly

Do you have pics of the other side too? That is way too close of a copy. :(

Yes, it Is way too close. Here's more pics:

I had this copy in a pass around for a week. Didn't like how close it was to the original and still don't.

This company makes a lot of knockoffs. Rift, 710 was also made by this company. I don't know about jkarp's example, but the one with Rift look alike has plastic washer, very low quality in AXIS lock knockoff (bad machine tolerances) make it difficult to operate. And steel is usually 440C or less.

I suppose at dirt cheap price, some lay person may not care :(

I won't trust a knife that doesn't label the steel type.
I've found that most of the people who make fakes are too lazy to add it.
