Which Benchmade would you recommend to someone who wants one as close as possible to the Manix 2 (non-lightweight version)?
This guy has the blurple S110V, loves the weight, loves the size and sturdiness feel, loves the good gimping, loves the grippy G-10. Would really like to try a very similar Benchmade.
And, a lesser steel is just fine.

Benchmade 550-1

The 550-1 above is probably the closest you'll get with a hole opener. Another possibility, although it uses thumb studs, is the 950 Rift.

The Benchmade Presidio would be a possible (not the II). I have the Mini-Presidio II which is a manual knife with about a 3" blade or basically the size I like. I like the axis lock which is the dominant reason I would or do buy Benchmade knives. Of course, they are well made knives too.

IMO, the BM Mini Onslaught has a similar downward sloping handle feel as my Manix 2. I don't feel that the Griptilian is similar. IMO, the Mini Onslaught has a much more comfortable and thicker handle. Additionally, it was designed by Bob Lum, who also designed the Spyderco Lum Chinese Folder. One downside is that it is discontinued.

I believe the BM Mini Loco might also have that similar curved handle, but I don't have one to compare.
