Been lurking here for awhile, I have several knives but have become hooked. Recently got a Mini Grip and like it quite well but... and there's always a but :) The length is just about perfect but I would like a better steel, I have looked at the RSK and Cabelas version but the other thing I don't love about the Mini Grip is the thickness of the handle, good rationalization :D. The M2 version of the 710 is extremely tempting and may find its way into my hands at some point but it is a bit long for what I am looking for now. The 707 Sequel is high on the list as it is seemingly close to what I'm seeking and from what I can tell the 154cm steel is probably between the 440c and the S30v in terms of edge retention. So what say you folks?

Thanks

Go for the Sequal. The blade will surpass your mini-grip and it feels much thinner. I really like the handle to the Sequal. The 6061t6 aluminum body with G10 inlays feels so good. The blade is also a very usable shape. You may also be interested in the 705. Give that a look.

Yes, I am sooo very close to pulling the trigger on the 707 and this is the kind of feedback that I am looking for. Not having an opportunity to handle one before buying I wasn't positive how thick the handle actually is. I have looked at the 705 but the blade design doesn't do it for me and I have read a fair amount of negative comments concerning just that. I like what Joe Talmadge has posted about the recurve blade of the 710 and the M2 steel, if the 707 had these things it would be exactly what I am looking for.
